My Printing, Packing, and Shipping Process -
I hand print each image I offer. Though I shoot both Film and Digital photography my printmaking process is similar.
I print mainly on my Epson P7000 Large Format printer which prints in brilliant resolution with exquisite colors. The inks this printer uses are acid free and archival. Prints are rated to last 100+ years without any fading or discoloration. This is my workhorse printer and I print from a roll and cut each print down to size i.e. 11x14, 16x24.
Each print I create has a one inch (or thereabouts) border around the actual image. This border encases the photograph on the paper, makes for easy handling, and looks almost like picture matting. I really like this look and I find it to be very professional and clean. For instance, if you order a 16x24 print, the actual printed part of the photograph is 14x22 and is printed on the 16x24 paper. 16x24 would be the total size of the paper.
On the front of the print in the lower corner (in the white border) is where I hand sign each image. I use a black acid free pen for making my signature. I most often use a Professional Epson Semi-Matte paper for my printing. This paper is smooth with a very slight texture and a slight gloss. This is my chosen paper that works the best for my photographs.
Each photograph after printing, cutting, and signing is placed in a crystal clear proactive photo sleeve. This sleeve protects the image and allows for easy handling. Smaller prints (8x10 and 11x14) that I offer come with a rigid backer board and ship in a rigid photo envelope. The larger prints I offer (16x24 and 24x36) along with the protective clear sleeve come rolled and shipped in a shipping tube.
I ship my printed works with USPS and provide a tracking number. Please allow 3-5 business days for printing, packing, shipping, and delivery. Shipping is $5 in the US, and $20 for international.
